Nutrition planning is the foundation of precision agriculture. Soil tests over the past several years have revealed major deficiencies of macro and micro nutrients. These deficiencies affect productivity and need to be overcome through balanced application of nutrients. Low organic matter (under 1%), high pH (higher than 8.0) and low and fast depleting Phosphorous and Potash bank in the soil and finally sulfur deficiency are some of the common challenges of the soils in Pakistan.

Each crop has its own unique requirement of nutrients which also need to be considered when doing nutrition planning.
